“The night after the storm is the calmest” Lucy had read. As Percy slobbered across the room to grab Anita. *bang* *bang*, two shots hit him out of nowhere. From the door, with tears streaming down, fifteen-year old Lucy wasn’t going to let her Mama face the storm again and watch her suffer in silence.

  1. Well written, Harshal. It hurts…. so much of physical abuse happening in families, and hapless children resorting to the harshest of all means to curb the same… A touching short fiction. You’re proving again and again that brevity is the soul of the message !

  2. Ah. I need to learn the art of writing 55 fiction from you Harshal.
    Really powerful words. Reminds me of the very first short story I had written. It runs along similar lines too…
    And as Leo said, I hope fewer Lucys have to face such storms!
